Sorry we're so late, but we made it halfway through week 40 before Alexis decided it was time to come. Alexis Gayle Willett was born via emergency C-section at 11:05 pm on July 15, 2013. She weighed 6 lbs 0 oz and 20 1/2 inches...she is our little miracle baby straight from God. Why you may ask? Alexis decided to make her entrance into this world with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck 5 times, she had no heart beat or breathing on her own until 25 minutes later they finally got it started and was given a 50% chance of survival. She got transported immediately to NICU at Providence Memorial where she was put on a cool cap, ventilator, and other life saving measures. 9 days later: we are off the ventilator, no more cool cap, learning to drink out of a bottle, making cooing noises and being feisty. God sure works in miraculous ways and literally bringing so many people to their knees in prayer for our sweet baby! Words can not express how much all the love, prayers, and support Roger, Alexis, and I have received and how very much it means to us. We know we still have a road ahead of us for recovery but knowing she has come so far in such a short time has really given us the hope we needed! Please keep the prayers coming for us! I will be back next week with more!

39 weeks!
Another week down, hopefully baby girl decides to make her appearance soon! Wehad a great 4th of July with friends and we even went bowling on Friday night with The Carrolls! My mom got here on Sunday, we went grocery shopping and made a ton of freezer meals for easy cooking after she comes. Im so glad she is here, she has already been such a big help! We have been making bows to pass the time and match all of her clothes:) I went to the doctor and I'm currently 2 cm dilated, 90% effaced, and -1 station, her heartbeat was 130 bpm...she could be here at any time, but apparently she is stubborn like her Daddy! I have been eating a ton of pineapple because it is supposed to help labor along and walking all the time! Can't wait for her to get here. Went and played BUNCO last night, had a great time, but sad it was the last one Paola will be at! Alexis is the size of a watermelon this week, hopefully she will be soon..so I'll never know when will be the last blog!

38 weeks!
Another week down & closer to my due date! Last weeks appointment and this weeks appointment showed no change, apparently Alexis is happy just right where she is! My next appointment is July 11 & if she hasn't come by then, we will start talking induction at 41 weeks! Pray she comes before then because I do not want to be induced! Everything has been pretty normal around here! I had a great birthday dinner out with some friends and had cake at the Hubert's afterwards! I'm really very lucky to have found such an awesome group of friends here! Alexis is the size of a pumpkin this week! Nothing really else to report! See you next week, if she is still hanging in there!
